Acknowledging and responding to the expanding impulse of creating, circulating and owning photobooks, as well as to its potential as a democratic medium, IAPT (International Association of Photography and Theory) is pleased to announce a special themed photobook exhibition as part of its 5th International Conference of Photography and Theory (ICPT2018).
We invite submissions of photobooks whose content falls within the ICPT2018 theme of Photographies and Conflict: Archiving and Consuming Images of Strife. We are interested in photobooks that deal with the theme of conflict and more specifically with archiving conflict, consuming conflict, and conflict as a cultural product. The term conflict should be interpreted as going beyond war and politics to include other issues such as social and cultural struggles and controversies.
